Not only the Dutch government, but also the European Union, your educational institution, several foundations and private institutes offer scholarships for study, internship or research abroad. Many scholarship programs have an early application deadline, so start in an early stage with your search.

Scholarships in China

The Sino-Dutch Bilateral Exchange Scholarship is based a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ (MoU) between China and the Netherlands. The ministeries of Education of both countries provide 25 scholarships each year for study or research in China. Read more

In order to promote cultural exchange with China and to support people who are interested in Chinese language and culture, the Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) launches the Confucius Institute Scholarship programme to offer financial support to students, scholars and teachers to study Chinese language en culture, history or philosophy. Read more

Shanghai government has set the "Shanghai government scholarship for international students," as an action plan, which is conducted to accelerate the development of education in Shanghai for international students. It's valid for 29 universities in Shanghai. Read more

The TaiwanICDF provides scholarships for higher education and has developed undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs in cooperation with renowned partner universities in Taiwan. Read more

In an effort to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan so as to familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan and promote communication, understanding and friendship with Taiwan, the Ministry of Education (MOE) established the Taiwan Scholarship Program. Read more

The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship provided by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is, in principle, granted to students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and it continues to encourage outstanding students to pursue academic degrees in Taiwan and to deepen their understanding of Taiwan's academic environment, thereby enhancing exchanges and building friendships between Taiwan and their home nations. Read more
